Committee for the Hunter

The Committee for the Hunter is an independent and inclusive champion for the people of the Hunter and their enterprises, providing effective advocacy and thought leadership to help build a sustainable and prosperous future for the region.

The Hunter Hydrogen Roadmap sets out the region’s visionary plan to be a leader in the green hydrogen economy.

The Roadmap was developed with industry, research and government. It translates State and national ambitions for hydrogen into a targeted set of actions in the Hunter to accelerate renewable hydrogen generation, storage and use.

The Hunter Hydrogen Roadmap provides a pathway for the Hunter to establish a thriving domestic and export hydrogen industry, outlining the targeted actions and investments across sectors and the region over the short, medium and longer terms.

The Hunter Hydrogen Roadmap was developed by the Hunter Hydrogen Taskforce on behalf of the Committee for the Hunter. The Committee will coordinate the Roadmap’s implementation. We acknowledge the Vice-Chancellor of University of Newcastle, Alex Zelinksy, in providing the leadership and resourcing to deliver this important strategy for the Hunter region.
