Proactive Ageing provides innovation strategies, frameworks and implementation plans for a variety of ‘early adopter’ organisations enthusiastically examining the potential for effective cutting-edge solutions in healthcare, industry 4.0, education, organisational psychology, human capital, and workplace productivity.

In line with strong values supporting our most disadvantaged citizens, much of his recent work has been around the emergence of the Care Economy and ‘Consumer Directed Care’, a more patient centric ‘continuum of care’, that is now legislated (in Australia) for both disability services (NDIS) and in-home aged care.

Rapidly converging citizen rights legislation and commercial pressures are beginning to align our population health, aged care, disability services, technology, manufacturing, and education providers into new alliances focused on co-designing new models of care which are much more highly personalised. Proactive Ageing provides consultancy services to help better frame the evolution of this convergence, which is resulting in the emergence of the Care Economy as an industry sector in its own right. Steve assists in identifying, leveraging, and combining the different capabilities and strengths of these industry sectors such that they come together under a more unified ‘Social Determinants of Health’ framework.

‘Consumer Directed Care’ is our country’s entree into more economically sustainable ‘Value Based Care’ service models and Australia’s, as yet unleveraged, global healthcare differentiator. This new paradigm of holistic patient centric care, whist initially disruptive (ref recent Royal Commissions), will help drive new 21st century population health practices and the underpinning next generation of medtech and assistive technology. New STEM skills and ‘Industry 4.0’ business models and technologies will be at its core.
